Sustainable Finance Lab’s Beatrice Crona participated in SIS’ 100 year jubilee celebration

Sustainable Finance Lab’s Beatrice Crona participated in SIS (Svenska Institutet för Standarder) anniversary event the 18 May 2022. SIS celebrated their 100 year anniversary with the publication of a magazine detailing their history and societal significant accomplishments connected to their work on standardization. The celebratory event entailed panel discussions, of which Professor Beatrice Crona took part.

SIS highlighted the importance of standards and their international significance for sustainable development. During the event journalist Lydia Capolicchio moderated the panel discussions, which had the overall theme of “Global solutions for a sustainable future”. Professor Beatrice Crona participated in the panel discussion on the topic of, “How can business and its leaders contribute to the pace of adapting to, and achieving the set climate goals? Are standards the solution to the climate crisis?”.

The keynote speaker was Anna Kinberg Batra, who in her speech reflected on the current political situation and the meaning of leadership during these trying times. Another topic which was the subject of a panel discussion was, “Is standardization an obstacle or a condition for innovation and sustainability?”. The event and panel discussion were conducted in Swedish. 

Other participants included Viveka Hirdman-Rydberg from Investor, Mattias Frumerie – Sweden’s chief UN’s climate negotiator, Lena Westerholm of Country Sustainability and HSE Manager ABB AB Sweden and more.
