ABSTRACT: Sustainable investing brings together financial goals and ethical considerations, often making investment decisions more complex. How do investors respond when confronted with conflicting financial and sustainability-related news? This study explores how different types of information shape individual portfolio allocation decisions. Using a longitudinal within-subject experiment, participants were exposed to AI-generated news videos designed to mimic real-world information environments. The study offers new insights into how investors navigate uncertainty and process multiple, and sometimes competing, signals when making investment choices.

BIO: Ida Faradynawati is a researcher at the Department of Real Estate and Construction Management. She completed her PhD from KTH in November 2025 with a thesis titled: Dual-Motive Complexity of Sustainable Investments. Exploring Individual Investors’ Decision-Making Process.
