The translation of the motivations reads as follows:
Beatrice Crona, #34
When she examined how companies that claim to be sustainable measure sustainability, she found that they often measure the wrong things. She is now developing new tools and indicators that companies and asset managers can use to steer their activities toward preserving the planet’s life‑support systems.
“I am proud of the work we have done to try to translate planetary boundaries and biodiversity into something that companies can actually act on, and that we are not just offering a framework for describing how the world looks,” she says.
Kent Eriksson, #60
Kent Eriksson is professor at KTH and Director of the Sustainable Finance Lab, a research consortium within sustainable finance comprising universities and financial market actors. The purpose of the lab is to provide research‑based advice to decision‑makers, supervisory authorities, and industry organizations on how best to support a sustainable financial market in Sweden and internationally.
Anja Hannerz, #71
Anja Hannerz is Head of Sustainability at Nordea Bank. She is also a member of the board of the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI). Over the past three years, Nordea Bank has facilitated more than SEK 2,500 billion in green and sustainable financing and has reduced its financed emissions by nearly 40 percent compared with 2019. “This shows that we have both reduced our indirect impact on the climate and helped make the transition possible,” she concludes.
Number one on the list is Johan Rockström, Professor at Stockholm University and Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. Number two is Olga Kordas, Associate professor at KTH and Program Director of Viable Cities. Number three is Jacob Wallenberg, Chair of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and Investor.
How the list was created:
The list of Sweden’s 101 Most Influential Sustainability Leaders ranks those who, over the past year, have achieved the greatest sustainability impact relative to their actual position of power.
The list is compiled through nominations from Aktuell Hållbarhet’s readers. A jury then adds additional candidates and ranks all nominees through a voting process.
